Who We Are
Honey Harvest Apiary was started by a South Jersey native who dreamed of one day telling anyone and everyone about the wonders of the honey bee and our local floral ecosystems.
Christian Adams started Honey Harvest Apiary with the idea of giving back to South Jersey in mind. Christian had been mead-making for three years and studying beekeeping for two years before getting bees of his own in 2020. After that, Christian delved deep into the world of the honey bees, joining the New Jersey Beekeepers Association, Eastern Apiculture Society, and (while studying apiculture at the University of Delaware) the Delaware Beekeepers Association. The world of bees has taken Christian everywhere, from hunting for wild bees all along the East Coast to studying stingless yet honey producing bees deep in the Peruvian Amazon.
Michael got his first taste of beekeeping in 2021 when he joined his brother, Christian, for a hive inspection. Always keen to study the natural world, Michael took to beekeeping immediately. As a teacher at Cape May Tech and occasional collaborator with Honey Harvest Apiary, Michael uses his knowledge of bees and the rest of the environmental world to educate the next generation of agriculturists, ecologists, and naturalists that will one day help to preserve the beauty of South Jersey.
